Make Soup. Bake Bread. Warm Up the Kitchen! There's nothing better on a cool fall day than a warm bowl of homemade soup and fresh bread straight from the oven! At Soup & Bread Kitchen, our young chefs will learn to make a hearty vegetable-and-chicken soup and real yeast dinner rolls from scratch. We'll start by making our bread dough, learning how yeast works and how to knead and shape dough. While our dough rises, we'll move to the soup kitchen, where the kids will help prepare vegetables, measure ingredients, season the soup, and bring everything together in a delicious homemade broth. Then it's back to the bread! Each chef will shape their own dinner rolls, brush them with butter or egg wash, and send them into the oven. By the end of class, we'll sit down together for a warm bowl of homemade soup with fresh-baked bread made by our own young chefs.
