Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Have you heard of “Hot Buttered Rum” (non-alcoholic version, of course)? Ouch, my joints are hurting!!! Try some Golden Milk. Give a gift of Chai Mix or Hot Cocoa and even Vegan Egg Nog.
Let’s make beverage mixes to put in our pantry for those cold nights. We will look at some of our comfort foods and beverages for those cold nights and why they resonate with the holiday and winter season. All supplies will be provided in class. Bring a journal & pen for taking notes.
Ellen Harbin-Dabbs is a Tennessee native. Growing up in the Tennessee State Park system, she learned many traditional skills that have been forgotten over time. She was taught ways of the hearth by her mother and grandmother, and the ways of the wild by her father who was an outdoor instructor and park ranger. Her stories and insights will keep your entertained as she passes along the knowledge of the “old ways”.
This class is part of our new Home Spun series, designed to get us back in touch with our hand-made heritage.
