Bring your crockpots! It’s Apple Butter Time in Tennessee. We are going to go over how to start with just an apple and how to make it into many different items. We don’t want to waste any of those delicious apples.
You will need a crockpot of your own (you will finish your apple butter at home), and a pint jar and a quart jar.
Ellen Harbin-Dabbs is a Tennessee native. Growing up in the Tennessee State Park system, she learned many traditional skills that have been forgotten over time. She was taught ways of the hearth by her mother and grandmother, and the ways of the wild by her father who was an outdoor instructor and park ranger. Her stories and insights will keep your entertained as she passes along the knowledge of the “old ways”.
This class is part of our new Home Spun series, designed to get us back in touch with our hand-made heritage.
