Are you tired of not knowing how your food is being handled? Why not grow your own?
In this Kitchen Gardening workshop, you will learn the difference sprouts and micro-greens, the benefits of eating each and how to grow them. We will create a jar screen for sprouting and start a tray of micro-greens. We will also start an edible flower pot.
Participants will need to bring a wide-mouth quart canning jar and a canning ring that will fit the jar. All other materials will be provided.
Ellen Harbin-Dabbs is a Tennessee native. Growing up in the Tennessee State Park system, she learned many traditional skills that have been forgotten over time. She was taught ways of the hearth by her mother and grandmother, and outdoor skills by her father who was an outdoor instructor and park ranger. Her stories and insights will keep your entertained as she passes along the knowledge of the “old ways”.
This class is part of our new Home Spun series, designed to get us back in touch with our hand-made heritage.
