David, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Tennessee. For the past 27 years, he has worked as a successful medical device salesman for Henry Schein. In 2000, David made a life-changing decision to relocate to the serene mountains of Jonesborough, where he acquired 10 acres of land, now known as Serenity Knoll.

David’s passion for contra dancing was ignited in April 2005 when he learned the art form himself. Inspired by the joy and camaraderie it fostered, he founded the Historic Jonesborough Dance Society in January 2006. This endeavor, driven by his deep appreciation for the contra dance community, ultimately led to the creation of the remarkable pavilion that stands proudly as Serenity Knoll today.

Alongside his dedication to contra dancing and community building, David is an enthusiastic gardener with a profound love for cultivating nature’s bounty. He also nurtures a passion for food, exploration through travel, and, of course, contra dancing.

With boundless excitement, David eagerly anticipates the opportunities that lie ahead for Serenity Knoll Farm. He envisions it as a cherished asset within the East Tennessee farming, dancing, and cooking communities. David’s unwavering commitment and vibrant spirit ensure that Serenity Knoll Farm will continue to flourish as a vibrant and inclusive space for all.
